The Light Has Come

The Light Has Come, Original Watercolor, Marcia Carole

This is a painting completed during a time of worship with my Artist Maker. I have the viewer in darkness, but the light and love of the Lord is piercing the darkness. Coming like a dove, light enters the viewer's space. It's really a prayer for my life and for many others.

To the righteous a light is risen up in darkness: he is merciful, and compassionate and just. Psalm 112:4

Woman Bleeding For 12 Years, Collaged Paper Accordion Book, Marcia Carole

Last weekend, I wrestled with God over the timing of my healing - or home going. I want it to be over - the waiting for one or the other. So, on Monday morning, God taught my heart something about Himself through the story about the woman, in the Bible, who was bleeding for 12 years. He used a sermon on this woman, preached by Tim Keller. This is what He taught me - Jesus has perfect timing.

Jesus is on his way to healing...

Chronic Cancer and Another Woman

Posted by Marcia Carole on Sunday, October 14, 2012,
I've been fighting cancer for eleven months. Stage four, make out your living will, any other wills you want, clean out the garage and closets, cancer. Every night, I check to see how the tumor did during the day - bigger? Smaller? Every morning, I check, more hopefully because the dark night is over. Well, I'm alive, I notice as I check the tumor again. My closets are still fairly clean. The garage is back to being a mess.

I've completed the collaged story of a woman who was sick, brutally t...

Early Dawn, Sketch A Day, Marcia Carole

I was practicing arms, hands, back view type work today. Also, I tried giving more weight, with pencil stroke, to certain parts of the drawing. I am thinking of early morning when the sun is just coming up. I worked off a figure in another painting. I initially wanted to work on design, perspective, and found this figure. I think the piece helps me to practice a great contrast from foreground to background.

I am thinking of the women with whom I will be s...

Set Free By Love, Painted Paper and Fabric Collaged Book, Marcia Carole

I am finishing up my accordion book about the woman caught in adultery. It's really a story about people, both men and women, being set free by Jesus' love. I'll be bringing this book to Thailand to share this heart-gripping story, with prostitutes, my team will meet during a week of workshops. We'll be sharing our life stories and bringing Jesus' love to the women.

I am reminded, in the Bible, we are "living letters" of Go...

About Me

Marcia Carole It is my pleasure to help many to process their stories by using a variety of art forms. The art reaches non-verbal parts of the brain, where trauma is stored. Healing may take place through the art-making. By sharing our stories, we become known. Instead of running from our stories, we embrace them and see how God can redeem them and use them.
