Moved To Colorado Springs

“The strength of patience hangs on our capacity to believe that God is up to something good for us in all our delays and detours.” ― John Piper, Battling Unbelief: Defeating Sin with Superior Pleasure

Life can change very quickly. One minute, I'm in the suburbs of misty green Seattle serving others, enjoying the ministry God has fashioned in me, and the next, I am on top of an arid mountain in Colorado Springs wondering where I fit in. This is most likely not a detour, but the next part ...

New Possible Outreaches

I am in the midst of packing for Colorado, but I am taking a minute to put my feet up!

I have a trip to Haiti and one to India perking on "back burners" so to speak. If you are interested in supporting the work I do, you can go here, and easily donate online. The non-profit that supports me has 3 ways for you to donate. Be sure to put my number, #802, in the place for who the donation is for. Thanks so, so much for supporting art engaging story!

Mother and Daughter Collages - June Art Outreach Training

Today was a day of farewells and passing the baton for art outreach training in this area. I am in my final week before my move to Colorado Springs. This afternoon, with the help of several art friends, I taught on how to make story ropes and story collage. The workshop participants, leaders of ministry from a variety of churches and in two foreign countries, were able to choose what they wanted to focus on. Then, and they were encourag...

Ponte Veccio Yellows, painted papers, Marcia Carole

On my recent trip to Italy, I collaged The Ponte Veccio, a famous bridge in Florence, in a couple of ways. I really enjoyed making the above version with cut painted papers and marble paper. The Ponte Veccio is a cheery, multi-shades of yellow menagerie. Houses and shops built one upon another, with windows tucked here and there, float across a series of three brown arcs. The blue-green Arno River lazily lies below the arcs. (Little can be se...

Collage in Italy - Marcia Carole

I have just returned from Italy, where I was resting, renewing and creating art. I traveled with my friend and mentor, Marge. It was an incredible, fun, and delightful trip. Look here for future blog posts of work I have made in response to the time we had in Italy. Most likely, packing for the move to Colorado, final goodbyes, and final workshops will take up the last of my time in Seattle. However, I hope to make some art with Italy as subject matter when I h...

About Me

Marcia Carole It is my pleasure to help many to process their stories by using a variety of art forms. The art reaches non-verbal parts of the brain, where trauma is stored. Healing may take place through the art-making. By sharing our stories, we become known. Instead of running from our stories, we embrace them and see how God can redeem them and use them.
