Stand III, Painted Papers Collage, Marcia Carole

I've enjoyed putting together this series of little houses standing in various colorful, textured settings. This one seems to be standing firm during the scorching heat of a very hot day, difficult situation or life emergency. It reminds me, a little, of refining fire. The house is almost taking on the "heat" of the background, but yet, it is standing firm.

It's interesting how I am preaching to my soul as I make art in response to a Biblical passage. I've been a little down these past few days; thinking the cancer is not really going away. It is hard to see any change in my body. I'm in the heat of the battle with the cancer, and I am feeling the hopelessness of cancer.

It's kind of coloring me just like my little house above is colored by the brilliant yellows and oranges. Yet, I stand firm in God, who says He is fighting this battle. My role is to stand, even if it is ever so wobbly. Again, today.

When the storm has swept by, the wicked are gone, but the righteous stand firm forever. Proverbs 10:25
