Sunny Days in Seattle
, Acrylic on Paper, Collage, Marcia Carole

First, I finished my “Sunny Days” collage as it continues to pour down rain. Making art is my escape from the Seattle gray. Now, onto my near death (:-) story.

Two days ago, I purchased some wheat grass. It was a first for me. I bought three small, square trays of the grass which I found in the veggie section of my grocery store. I had heard, from a kind friend, shots of wheat grass juice really gives one some terrific pep. She had told me this news back in December, and, better late than never, I have now embraced the concept of juicing the wheat grass in my Vitamix. I threw myself whole-heartedly into the project.

Unfortunately, I watched a YouTube video on how to juice wheat grass AFTER I made a brew of water and fresh cut wheat grass –  in the Vitamix. After drinking a tall glass of the green stuff, I fell asleep for two hours. I figure it was a near death experience; my body was overcome with the greenness and the vitamin content. Or, I basically poisoned myself.

After awaking like Snow White without the kiss and watching the video, I realized I should have strained the juice, and I should have downed a much smaller amount of the potent stuff. It’s time to buy some cheese cloth for straining before I make my next batch. I plan on having the small “shot” suggested in the video. That grass keeps growing, so I better make buying the cheese cloth my top priority! Ah, the life of a cancer patient in gray Seattle.

From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets, the name of the LORD is to be praised. Psalm 113:3
Yes, It’s wheat grass!
