Early Dawn, Sketch A Day, Marcia Carole
I was practicing arms, hands, back view type work today. Also, I tried giving more weight, with pencil stroke, to certain parts of the drawing. I am thinking of early morning when the sun is just coming up. I worked off a figure in another painting. I initially wanted to work on design, perspective, and found this figure. I think the piece helps me to practice a great contrast from foreground to background.
I am thinking of the women with whom I will be sharing art on the upcoming trip. I pray the light, the truth that Jesus loves them, will shine in their hearts just like the dawning light is shining on this figure. The drawing is a prayer, and it gives me hope.
Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you. Isaiah 60:1
