Lavender Fields Forever, oil on canvas, Marcia Carole

Having completed this painting back at home, I felt comfortable bringing it back for the farmer and his wife to see. He had emailed and said he wanted to buy it for his wife for their 30th wedding anniversary. He did want to have her give final approval, so I drove over, oil paint fumes wafting through the car. As I showed it to her, she said to her husband, “I love it.” I relaxed a bit and smiled. I wanted them to really like it. Every artist wants their work appreciated.

They will let me make prints before I sell it to them, so that is a financial blessing for me, as well. I’ll try to post in the art store, on this site, once I have prints. They will be an odd size, but this has to be in order to make the sense of expanse with the fields.

The work on the oil painting has cut into my work on the Joseph book, but I am determined to try to cut and glue down 5 more pages I have mapped out. I may have to finish on the road. My art outreach is fast coming upon me! I am learning so much about God and his faithfulness by studying the book of Joseph, in order to make the art. I am so thankful for the time with God, the fellowship we have, when I collage Bible story books. I’ll post the next few pages tomorrow.

Today, I had a very special, brief conversation with a man I greatly admire. He loves studying the Bible, and he finds nuggets of truth that encourage my heart whenever he shares them. He, and his wife, always, always, always spur me on in my walk with Jesus. We were talking about Joseph and looking forward to eternity with the Lord one day. What did he share? “I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints (Ephesians 1:18).”

God has chosen to make His people His inheritance. If God is our inheritance, we also are His! We are looking forward to seeing Him in heaven, and He is looking forward to seeing us as His inheritance – because of what Jesus has secured for all of us. Something to ponder. Thank you, Gary and Lorraine!
