Daffodils …..in process, Watercolor, Marcia Carole

The joyous celebration of Easter Sunday has begun to fade; family and friends who had gathered together, have gone home. Most have gone back to work or school. The last of the hard boiled eggs are being eaten by all, except by the vegans. The green or pink plastic grass from the baskets is being swept up. (I successfully had no candy; take that cancer cells!) This artist has gone back to painting and preparing for new projects.

I have started a watercolor of daffodils; these cheery flowers growing outside my dining room window, provide a bright splash of color against my large, gray, rock wall and encourage my soul. The daffodils quietly sprang up, and their yellow heads bloomed at the end of the dark, wet month of March. The yellow blooms swaying happily, seem to be a prize for me, a reward for patiently persevering through the third wettest March on record while fighting cancer.

Unfortunately, their blooms, like our Easter celebrations, are beginning to fade. However, the daffodils are giving way to a rainbow of colors with banks of tulips and red geraniums. Joyous reds, pinks, and purples following the yellows of the daffodils, give hope for much more to come. Summer flowers are just around the corner.

I may not continue to celebrate Easter in the same way as I did on the actual day, but I’d like my joy, my life in Jesus, to bloom in new, brilliant colors in the days ahead. I am certain, He has some new ways for me to enjoy Him and share His great love, just around the corner. I have hope.

What a God we have! And how fortunate we are to have him, this Father of our Master Jesus! Because Jesus was raised from the dead, we’ve been given a brand-new life and have everything to live for, including a future in heaven—and the future starts now! God is keeping careful watch over us and the future. The Day is coming when you’ll have it all—life healed and whole. 1 Peter 1:3-5 (The Message)
