We Worship, Original Watercolor, Marcia Carole

I’ve just returned from my church’s annual summer picnic. I know it is “old school.” However, it was so much fun to roam around, zig-zagging through the crowd, and bumping into all sorts of friends who usually attend one of three services at my church. With my new hair-do, some barely recognized me, others didn’t, and many, happily, did. Those that did, were very encouraging about my new look, even though I haven’t quite warmed up to it yet.

Everyone was loligagging about in lawn chairs or on big blankets in a local farm field. There were bouncy houses for the kiddos, and hot dogs, pulled pork and cole slaw for all. (This vegan brought her own dinner.) The evening was capped with singing, a little preaching, and many inspiring baptisms. It was a really lovely summer event with my entire church family.

For two years in a row, I have painted during the singing as part of my expression of worship to my Lord. I was able to finish the above piece before the service was over, and it was such a great experience to be in the moment while worshipping my Artist Maker through my artwork. I highly recommend it!

O worship the King, all glorious above,
O gratefully sing His power and His love;
Our Shield and Defender, the Ancient of Days,
Pavilioned in splendor, and girded with praise. – O Worship The King, Johann Haydn and Robert Grant
