In this piece, I am worshipping God for His humility. (The above part is just a small section of the whole canvas.) The verse I have been meditating on for this painting is this: So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son. John 1:14. This is the essence of Christmas.
I am amazed and thankful, simultaneously, when I think of the wonder of God becoming a tiny human being. My mind can hardly grasp it. The Creator, Artist Maker, left His life of perfect comfort and peace to give us unconditional comfort and perfect peace with God, our eternal Father. In the entirety of the canvas, I am showing the grandeur and glory of heaven in contrast to dark earth, and that glory coming to us, people living in darkness, that first Christmas night.
